John Paul Stewart, 85, died Thursday, November 13, 2003. He was a World War II veteran, having served in North Africa and Italy as a Control Tower Operator in the Army Air Corps. He was a long-time Advanced Amateur Radio Operator known as W5LLU. John was a member of the Lions Club, The Masons, and the Shriners. He was in sales at Frank Winne Co., for 36 years. John was an active member of the West University Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Molly; son, John Charles; daughters, Paula Sughrue and Lela Behee; grandson, Andy Glover; and sister, Nell Jean Stewart.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2003 in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at West University Baptist Church, 6218 Auden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association or to the Lighthouse of the Blind. The Settegast-Kopf Co., 3320 Kirby Drive, 713-526-2411.
