In memory of our friend,
James K. Freeman - K5HXR
November 2, 1922 - December 16, 1978

From the February 1979 Bullsheet:

Jim Freeman, K5HXR, passed away in late December.  Although he was a relatively new club member, most of us had known him for years as one of the most colorful characters in Ham Radio in Houston.  He coordinated the site for the 78 Field Day and did a great deal of the work to make that effort a success.  We will all miss his wit and friendship.

Obituary from the Houston Chronicle, December 17, 1978:
